Any, any, any old iron...

Got another skellington done in between jobs.

Thought I'd go for a rusted, bashed up look for their armour - as if they've been reanimated from an old battlefield where they've been lying mouldering - armour and all!

Might have a go at one of the horsemen next when I get sick of green sick...

Orc update

Wasn't 100% happy with the shield I'd spent some time doing a freehand design on - the design was getting a bit lost on the metallic background of the shield.

So as orcs are wont to do - paint it red!

Orcs sir... Thousands of 'em...

... well five anyway!

Another bunch of narsty orcses for the evergrowing horde. These are great old minis a few of which I remember gazing at in the pages of White Dwarf wishing  would own them some day - and now finally I do!

Ambush at Ashak Rise!

Now for the mug shots -

Painted this chap as a Kwae Carr Orc - took the shield design from the scenario book and painted it with a sharpened stick! Might need a closer photo though...

I remember seeing this guy in a Golden Demon warmachine entry - somone had converted the Dwarf Gobloober into an orcy catapult that launched severed dwarf heads - he entitked the piece Revenge I think!

A soldier's fortune I tell you plain...

... is a wooden leg or a golden chain.

Last one before bedtime! I had to paint this chap up - apart from green not appearing on my paint palette much recently this has to be one of my favourite orc minis. Ever since I owned a set of Goblinoid Combat Cards I've had a hankering to own Zugor Pegleg (as he's named in said deck) and I figured he deserved his own post, unlike the rest of the rank and file - nothing to do with the fact that I haven't finished the other ladz in this batch of painting!

The design on the shield is supposed to be one of the symbols used by the Vile Rune Tribe - crudely painted on in true Orcy style!

They've hooked it! All 'ov 'em!

Another two deserters - the last of Borinn's clansmen, except the five dwarfs armed with crossbows who are on their way!

Thought the thief would be a good choice for this little band, although he's been very busy if he's had time to smelt and cast his gold into chalices and other desirables!

The Norse dwarf adds some muscle and thuggery to this band of ne'er-do-wells!

'Dem bones, 'dem bones...

A little something I've been mucking about with in between dwarfs, mules and watching paint dry -

Think I've got me a nice, easy and above all quick skellie recipe for painting up the rank and file for what will be Baron Kraust's Band of Lost Souls.

This hungry looking chap is from the old citadel Skeleton Army box set. My favourite plastic box set ever - you literally got an army - 30 odd skelton warriors to pose as you wanted with scythes, swords, pikes, axes, spears and bows. I remember there was even bits of armour like breast plates and helmets that could be stuck on too! There were also parts for a good number of skeleton horsemen and a bone chariot plus cut out banners, of which I still have a couple that might get recycled! All that and I don't remember paying much more than around £15!!

Only thing now is that now I'm resurrecting (haha) my old plastic skellies I wish my younger self, in all my eagerness to assemble them and paint their weapons brown , had taken a bit more time to clean up the mould lines and not use as much polystyrene cement!

Lovin' that ass...

Or should I say mule...

These fellas should come in handy for Borinn's gold heist in the Ashak Rise scenario. As the Orcs move in the Dwarf's' only option is to run with their stolen gold (short legs not withstanding). As they've packed their sacks full of gold they are a little heavy - but not for a mule. They'll have to watch out though - rolling a 1 or 2 when moving the laden mules results in grumpy beast turning stubborn and refusing to move for a whole game turn!

Here's the gang fleeing with their ill-gotten gains whilst trying to fend off Grashak Kra and his slavering hobhounds!
