The months before BOYL 2014 seemed to take an age to pass and as I only had a Goblinoid horde and the best part of an entire Epic Imperial Guard Regiment to paint I thought I had loads of time to get ready. I even spent a day drawing up a painting timetable, Arnold Rimmer style - which of course soon went out the window when real life made itself known!
So, of course once I had realised that I would have to up production somewhat in the couple of months I had left my painting desk came more to resemble the spawning pits of Isengard!
Or perhaps if I was being really old school - Utumno! |
I'm afraid to say I have gone a little astray from the Pathetic Aesthetic but hey, you've got to put on a bit of a show sometimes!
The Orc's Drift project saw me assemble a fair sized army when all the tribes were put together -
Long time followers of this blog will spot a few later additions like Grom's Goblin Guard - still looking for another 5 troopers to round them out to strength of 36 if anyone can help out!
War Tortoise Ajax and his Bog Goblin escort from 4A Miniatures.
The big orange Giant...
... who now has a few new little friends to play with!
Got a slightly better camera now with a much better panoramic feature -
but couldn't quite decide which shot was better so I've included them both!
To follow will be a closer look at all the new stuff I painted for BOYL 2014.
Oh and I must get round to sorting out the Epic stuff from BOYL too at some point...
Awesome and excellent.
ReplyDeleteIt is always good to see Gobliniods, especially in large numbers.
I really like that you have painted the Giant orange as they did in the rulebook. Grom's Goblin Guard look great too, and the giant tortoise is a great fantasy element to an already fantasy army.
The flesh tones and general overall look of the army is very good, and there's a nice mix of models too. :)
Compliment indeed from the Goblinmeister himself - cheers mate!
DeleteThat is a thing of beauty :)
ReplyDeleteInspiring to so a horde like that.
Thanks - there is something about it that brings a warm glow to the heart!
DeleteGreat looking goblin horde- your efforts have been justly rewarded.
ReplyDeleteGlad it passes muster - that lot was nearly a ticket to the GP with repetitive strain injury and a crick in the neck!
DeleteNice big army Thantsants, nice consistent look, nice bunch of old lead too.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to get my brushes out and catch up.
What are you doing lounging around here then - get on with it man!

ReplyDeleteCheers Chico - gotta love a bit of Green!
DeleteThey've been dusted off and inspected - might have to do a bit on the Trolltooth Wars project before I get onto the Hobgobs but they're definitely up near the top of the pile...
Found those spares by the way - will pm you on the forum.
That's a lot of groovy right there. Well done indeed.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mr S - just got some chariots, another archer unit, 2 Pump Wagons, a load of Snotties, the obligatory unit of plastic Warhammer Regiments Orcs and I'm nearly there...
