Gaj from Warhammer for Adults has toiled ceaselessly to bring this about, aided and abetted by various other Oldhammerers. Bryan and Marcus Ansell of Wargames Foundry have been more than accommodating in having us - in fact they have been absolute legends in supporting us so massive thanks to them too.
So what might be on offer so far you lucky people?
- An amazing venue in the heartland of miniature wargaming
- Two whole days of Oldhammer goodness
- Games galore - WFB 3rd ed. participation games - bring your own army, 25th anniversary RoC warband showdown and yours truly will be bringing Orc's Drift
- Bring and buy Old Lead sale and Foundry's original Citadel ranges available to buy
- Art and miniatures from Bryan Ansell's own collection on display
- Licensed bar! ...oh and food!
The details are still being fleshed out so please feel free to drop by the Blood forum to keep up to date of developments. We'reworking towards keeping the event a free one but knowing what kind of numbers we're dealing with would be handy. To this effect a booking system is being sorted out so keep your eyes peeled, your better halves sweet and the weekend of the 31st August to 1st Septemeber free!
Sounds like a good time! I wish I could be there but I'd have a long commute. I'll live vicariously through your posts though!
ReplyDeleteCheers matey - its a shame you folks in the New World are too far away. It'd be great to hook up. Maybe the World Tour will come if Nottingham is a success?
DeleteBy the way, we must talk trades some time as I have wall space that needs filling ;)
Sure thing! I've been meaning to take a trip to the Old World, It's been a while for me. One of these days!
ReplyDeleteLet me know on the illustration and I'll get started on it.
Will do - just got to decide which one first...
DeleteI'm very seriously considering trying to make it, though it would be a heck of a long trip for me, and I've never been to the UK...if anyone could offer advice on travel and affordable lodging, etc. in the Nottingham area, it'd be much appreciated...
ReplyDeleteWow - Sounds like quite a trek for you but it'd be great to see you there.
DeleteThe nearest airport to Nottingham would be East Midlands Airport but I'm not sure you'd fly in their direct from the US? There'll be good rail links from London/Manchester though.
As for lodgings - Skarsnik is our man in Havana so to speak, being a local. Get over to the Blood forum and I'm sure someone'll have more detailed advice than me!
Agh, what I wouldn't give to make that. Hmmm...
ReplyDeleteYou've got a smaller pond to cross than Mouse! ;)
DeleteTrue indeed.
