Well I swore I wouldn't let post BOYL slump get me this year but here we are a month on! Ah well - off work today with a stinking cold so seems a good opportunity to keep myself busy.
So another year and another BOYL and this year was a big one! As always the weekend was fantastic, jam-packed with brilliant games, great company, plenty of beer and not much sleep! Thanks so much to all who were involved in making it happen and everyone who attended and made it such a great place to be. If you haven't seen these blogs yet and you'd like a taste of what else went on at BOYL these fine chaps have done a fine job of rounding up what went on - Sean's Wargames Corner, Mr Saturday's Mumblings, Blue's Marauding Miniatures, Give Em Lead, Lead Plague, Realms of Chaos, Dear Tony Blair, Magpie and Old Lead, Riotville, Shadowkings ,. Great to see so much blogging going on! For me, the best thing about BOYL this year was meeting some very familiar online faces in the flesh - lovely to finally meet, chat and game with you all! This year also marked a particular milestone for myself and Warlord Paul as we reached the climatic final battle of our long running Trolltooth Wars campaign - the Battle of Trolltooth Pass...

Another unit ready and of all the regiments that make up Zharradan Marr's legions, as detailed in the Trolltooth Wars novel, the mixed regiment of Dwarves, Goblins, Craggeracks, Kobolds and Gorians was probably the most fun to assemble and paint.

Another Regiment musters under the banner of Zharradan Marr, ready to take the battle all the way to Balthus Dire's Citadel of Chaos perched high in the Craggen Heights of the Trolltooth Pass!

Not sure I really have time for blogging with only a month to go till BOYL and a worryingly large paint queue to tackle but I had to post an update on my now complete Rhinoman regiment!

Well it's Friday night and the best (and probably the only constuctive) thing to do in these Western reaches of Mordor is to have a drink or two. Or seven. Even if there is a huge pile of miniatures that need to be painted by August 2nd...
So I figured if I can't raise a paint brush for raising too many drinks, I might as well share some more WIPs and ramblings with you good folk and keep my blog posting on a roll.
And what better way to do it than with this little beastie!
Now I might have mentioned in my last post how I loved the Fighting Fantasy world and how it felt a lot more diverse and richer than the Old World of Warhammer - and if I was being really unkind, I might take that back when confronted with one of the goofier monsters that one might encounter when exploring the wilds of Allansia - the Clawbeast!

Greetings readers and apologies once more for another bout of radio silence - insert usual excuses here... Well with just over a month and a half to go till BOYL 2019 things have been rather busy here with the usual hurried preparations that should have been done ages ago - so I figured some procrastination in the form of writing this blog post was in order!
As usual I have filled my BOYL schedule with as many games as I could cram in to the weekend but the one I am looking forward to the most (and having the most fun preparing for) is the grand finale of Warlord Paul's and my Trolltooth Wars campaign.
