Faction Attraction

OK - looks like its Game on!

Here are pics of the NPC factions that I'll be controlling and the two Player Factions up for grabs for Mouse and Private Weird.

I'm posting them without background for now as I don't want to give away too much to either side, both in terms of stuff they might want to keep under wraps from each other and stuff I want to keep up my sleeve for later as well! Also I thought it might be fun to let the players flesh out their characters themselves - within the narrative framework I'll be supplying them with once they've made their choices.

So I'll let the pictures speak for themselves - the only thing I'll say is that not everything is necessarily as it seems...

NPC factions

The High Seer, Zargo Thrawl, and his Militia

Captain Habris and his Militia patrol

Feral Mutant and Poly-beast Pack

Player Option 1

The Imperial Expedition

Player Option 2

The Polymorph Rebel Band with stranded Spacefarer

Let me know who you want to play as chaps and whether you have any issues representing the minis so far...

  1. Wow, these warbands look great. I don't know if I'm just tired or if I truly don't understand what is happening, but I like it.

    1. Thanks Sean! I'm setting up an internet game for Mouse and Private Weird. As GM I'll be controlling the Seer, his militia and the feral mutants.

Mouse and Private Weird get to choose from the other two warbands. After we've got the game organised all three of us will be playing the game on our own tables with our own minis - check out Mouse and Private Weird's blogs to see how they've played in this way before.

  4. Looks and sounds great, Thantsants! I'm open and excited to play either choice. I'll let Mouse choose which one he wants and I'll lead the other side. And that photo the starts the set - that is right out of my adolescence!! What a perfect shot to start our game! (I'm the goalie.) CAR!

  5. Good stuff! I'm open to playing either side, though I do fancy the Imperial Expedition...I'm bidding on those 2 old Space Marine models right now. As I mentioned earlier, I'm going to be at a school pretty much the entire month of September. If you fellows are going on vacation for the next couple of weeks, that's not going to leave us much time. If we plan carefully and hit it hard, we can probably finish our game in the time we've got...the other option, I imagine, is to use the next couple of months to collect, convert and paint our forces, then play sometime in October?

    1. Ok then - Mouse takes the Imperials and Private, you've got the Polymorph Rebel Band.

I'll get the respective background information out to you both and post up a general background post at some point on Hydrax II, the planet our little adventure is set.

Time wise - If we can be ready to get started by the 19th August that gives us just under two weeks to get it played before the Oldhammer event. If we're not done by then I can always leave place markers on the table for the minis and scenery I need to take to Nottingham and we can resume play when I get back.

Does that give you guys enough time to get ready?

As for scenery are you ok for a few medieval type houses, a river and some city walls/castle that will sit in one of the table corners? Come kind of ruined temple would be good too. I need to tidy up my table and see how much room I've got so I'll post more details on that later in the week.

    2. All is great, Thantsants! The 19th it is! And my guys really dig being called the Polymorph Rebel Band. The trouble is trying to find an equally rocking name for their first album! Looking forward to our game.
